When the nerve in a tooth is dead or significantly damaged, there are typically two options available: you can either have the tooth extracted (pulled) or saved through root canal therapy. Root canal treatment allows Dr. Dillon to save the natural tooth while also restoring the health and function of your smile. Dr. Dillon will usually recommend root canal therapy if one or more of the following are present:
- Significant injury
- An abscess or infection
- Decay inside the tooth’s pulp
Root canal therapy is completed in just one or two visits at Dillon Dental. After the therapy, Dr. Dillon will place a dental crown over the tooth for additional strength, beauty, and protection. Contact our office soon if you experience any dental discomfort so we can help improve your oral health through general and restorative dentistry.
